Options Page of the Zero-Out Data Wizard

Use this page to select the option you want to use when running the Zero-Out Data process.

The options selected on this page will override the project level options for loading budget, forecast, progress, or actual selected on the Project Preferences tab of the Project Properties dialog box.

Field Description
Zero-out Data Select this option to delete all zero-value records for all periods.
Delete zero-value resources when zeroing-out all periods This option is enabled only if the Zero-Out Data option is selected.

Select this option to delete all zero-value resources when deleting all periods.

Delete existing zero-value resources Select this option to delete only zero-value resources and all of its currency and non-currency results for all time-phased periods.
  • Time-phased records associated with the zero-value resources will be deleted.
  • Resources with offsetting values that net to zero (for example, +20, -20) will not be deleted.
  • All results, whether currency or non-currency, will be deleted (for example, Hours, Direct, Overhead, Units, FTE).
Include completed Control Accounts and Work Packages Select this option to set the values of the completed control accounts and work packages to zero.

By default, the process is run against planned control accounts and work packages only.

Include in-progress Control Accounts and Work Packages Select this option to set the values of the in-progress control accounts and work packages to zero.

Update Totals after processing Select this option to run the Update Totals process after completing the Zero-Out Data process.

If this option is selected, and the Scale Retain EAC field on the Forecast Preferences tab of the Project Properties dialog box is not set to None, Cobra displays the Scale Retain EAC dialog box asking if the EAC values will be included in the Update Totals process. The same dialog box displays when you run the Update Totals Wizard in the same condition.
